The Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), 51-47 in Friday's non-league test.
The Vikings (8-2) will now prepare for their test against Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers go into the non-league test with a 10-2 record. In their last test, Laney got by South Brunswick (Southport, NC), 49-36, in a non-league test.
The Screaming Eagle now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Topsail for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 10. Ashley will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 66-29 non-league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 4-7.
