North Carolina High School Basketball - Madison knocked off by Avery County

January 6, 2023: Marshall, NC 28753

The Avery County Vikings basketball team scored 55 points and held the host Madison Patriots to 36 in the Vikings league triumph on Friday.

The Vikings now sport a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Owen for a contest on Tuesday, January 10. Avery County will meet a Warhorses team coming off a 42-39 non-league win over Polk County (Columbus, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 1-10.

The Patriots (0-11) will now prepare for their contest against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Mountain Heritage ran past Mitchell (Bakersville, NC), 41-34, in a league contest.
