James Monroe Yellow Jackets (Fredericksburg, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Culpeper County Blue Devils (Culpeper, VA), 47-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, James Monroe upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Yellow Jackets travel to Brooke Point (Stafford, VA) to clash with the Black Hawks in a non-league bout on Monday, January 9. The Black Hawks go into the bout with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the Courtland Cougars (Spotsylvania, VA) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Culpeper County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-6 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 44-40 league win over Caroline (Milford, VA).
