East Duplin Panthers (Beulaville, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting James Kenan Tigers (Warsaw, NC), 32-23 in a league bout.

With the win, East Duplin upgrades its record to 2-4 on the season. The Panthers host South Lenoir (Deep Run, NC) to clash with the Blue Devils in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a record of 5-2.

Next up, the Tigers clash with the North Lenoir Hawks (LaGrange, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 10. James Kenan will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 44-35 league win over Wallace-Rose Hill (Teachey, NC).
