The Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) basketball knocked off the host Smoky Mountain Mustangs (Sylva, NC), 56-39 in Friday's league test.
The Panthers (8-2) will now prepare for their test against West Henderson (Hendersonville, NC). The Falcons go into the test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, West Henderson went down by Enka (Enka, NC), 48-40, in a non-league test.
The Mustangs now own a 1-10 record. They play next when they travel to Tuscola for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 10. Smoky Mountain will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 43-18 non-league loss to Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 3-9.
