The Highland Springs Springers basketball team scored 66 points and held the host Varina Blue Devils to 58 in the Springers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Springers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Patrick Henry for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 10.

The Blue Devils (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Mechanicsville was defeated by Patrick Henry (Ashland, VA), 63-20, in a non-league contest.
