The Marvin Ridge Mavericks basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Sun Valley Spartans to 40 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mavericks now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cuthbertson for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 10. Marvin Ridge will meet a Cavaliers team coming off a 34-24 non-league win over Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Cavaliers record now stands at 5-4.

The Spartans (6-7) will now prepare for their contest against Monroe (Monroe, NC). The Redhawks enter the non-league contest with a 1-4 record.
