Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Pine Bush Bushmen (Pine Bush, NY), 69-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newburgh Free Academy upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Goldbacks travel to Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY) to clash with the Crusaders in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 12. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 5-0.

Next up, the Bushmen clash with the Cornwall Central Dragons (New Windsor, NY) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 9. Pine Bush will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record.
