Schurr Spartans (Montebello, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host San Gabriel Matadors (San Gabriel, CA), 49-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Schurr upgrades its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Spartans host Mark Keppel (Alhambra, CA) to play the Aztecs in a bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Aztecs come into the bout with a record of 9-11. Mark Keppel won 45-20 in their recent league bout against Alhambra (Alhambra, CA)
