In Friday's non-league outing, the South Caldwell Spartans (Hudson, NC) basketball squad nipped the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), by a margin of 45-42.

The Spartans (4-2) will now prepare for their outing against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots go into the non-league outing with a 7-3 record. In their last outing, Freedom got by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 61-49, in a non-league outing.
