Briarcliff Bears (Briarcliff Manor, NY) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Rye Neck Panthers (Mamaroneck, NY), 40-26 in a league bout.

With the victory, Briarcliff upgrades its record to 3-4 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Pleasantville (Pleasantville, NY) to play the Panthers in a Section 1 Conference 3A bout on Wednesday, January 10. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 1-5. Pleasantville lost 64-54 in their recent non-league bout against Walter Panas (Cortlandt Manor, NY)

Next up, the Panthers play the Westlake Wildcats (Thornwood, NY) in a Section 1 Conference 3A bout, on Wednesday, January 10. Rye Neck will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 7-2 record after their 51-37 non-league win over Croton-Harmon (Croton on Hudson, NY).
