Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Flandreau Fliers (Flandreau, SD), 57-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sioux Valley upgrades its record to 9-0 on the campaign. The Cossacks travel to Hamlin (Hayti, SD) to play the Chargers in a A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Chargers come into the bout with a record of 5-2. Hamlin lost 54-52 in their recent non-league bout against Sioux Falls Christian (Sioux Falls, SD)

Coming up next, the Fliers confront the Madison Bulldogs (Madison, SD) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, January 11. Flandreau will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record.
