The New Utrecht Utes basketball team scored 65 points and restricted the visiting Lafayette Patriots to 58 in the Utes league victory on Saturday.

The Utes now sport a 5-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Roosevelt for a PSAL AAA Brooklyn I contest on Monday, January 8. New Utrecht will battle a Cougars team coming off a 46-43 league loss to Dewey (Brooklyn, NY). The Cougars record now stands at 2-7.

The Patriots (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Madison (Brooklyn, NY). The Golden Knights come into the PSAL AAA Brooklyn I contest with a 7-1 record. In their last contest, Madison was nudged by Grady (Brooklyn, NY), 67-55, in a league contest.
