Jefferson Democrats (Portland, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Benson Tech Techmen (Portland, OR), 65-60 in a league bout.

With the win, Jefferson upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Democrats travel to Wells (Portland, OR) to play the Guardians in a 6A Portland bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Guardians go into the bout with a record of 4-7. Wells won 68-26 in their recent league bout against Roosevelt (Portland, OR)

Next up, the Techmen play the Franklin Quakers (Portland, OR) in a 6A Portland bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Benson Tech will attempt to upgrade on its 6-4 season record. The Quakers go into the bout with a 4-7 record after their 56-29 league win over McDaniel (Portland, OR).
