The Cherokee Chiefs basketball team scored 36 points and restricted the visiting Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers to 25 in the Chiefs non-league victory on Saturday.

The Chiefs now sport a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Aline-Cleo for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 9. Cherokee will battle a Cougars team coming off a 65-19 non-league loss to Burlington (Burlington, OK). The Cougars record now stands at 0-13.

The Panthers (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Waukomis (Waukomis, OK). The Chiefs come into the Skeltur contest with a 9-3 record. In their last contest, Waukomis dropped by Canton (Canton, OK), 46-32, in a non-league contest.
