Ellsworth Eagles (Ellsworth, ME) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Houlton Shiretowners (Houlton, ME), 62-17 in a league bout.

With the win, Ellsworth upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Eagles travel to John Bapst Memorial (Bangor, ME) to clash with the Crusaders in a B North bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Crusaders go into the bout with a record of 1-9. John Bapst Memorial lost 78-41 in their recent league bout against Caribou (Caribou, ME)

Next up, the Shiretowners clash with the Presque Isle Wildcats (Presque Isle, ME) in a B North bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Houlton will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 28-20 league win over Washington Academy (East Machias, ME).
