Mississippi High School Basketball - Morton tops Forest

Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS), 48-30 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Morton upgrades its record to 17-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS) to play the Tigers in a 4A Region 5 bout on Friday, January 12. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 9-6.

Next up, the Bearcats play the Northeast Jones Tigers (Laurel, MS) in a 4A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Forest will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 69-42 league loss to Quitman (Quitman, MS).
