January 6, 2024: Golconda, IL 62938

In Saturday's league outing, the Pope County Pirates (Golconda, IL) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Gallatin County Hawks (Junction, IL), by a margin of 60-38.

The Pirates (17-1) will now prepare for their outing against Meridian (Mounds, IL). The Bobcats go into the non-league outing with a 10-6 record. In their last outing, Meridian smashed Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton (Elkville, IL), 52-16, in a league outing.

The Hawks now own a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to Goreville for a non-league outing on Saturday, January 13.
