Hicks Pirates (Leesville, LA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Plainview Hornets (Glenmora, LA), 65-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hicks upgrades its record to 24-2 on the campaign. The Pirates host Oak Hill (Hineston, LA) to play the Rams in a B District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 9. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 20-9. Oak Hill lost 46-33 in their recent non-league bout against Rosepine (Rosepine, LA)

Next up, the Hornets play the East Beauregard Trojans (DeRidder, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Plainview will attempt to upgrade on its 10-14 season record. The Trojans come into the bout with a 11-11 record after their 56-52 non-league loss to Pitkin (Pitkin, LA).
