Seward Seahawks (Seward, AK) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Homer Mariners (Homer, AK), 38-30 in a league bout.

With the win, Seward upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Seahawks travel to Valdez (Valdez, AK) to play the Buccaneers in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 11. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Valdez won 44-32 in their recent non-league bout against Kotzebue (Kotzebue, AK)

Next up, the Mariners play the Bethel Warriors (Bethel, AK) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 11. Homer will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record.
