The Mahwah Thunderbirds (Mahwah, NJ) basketball felled the host Wayne Valley Indians (Wayne, NJ), 43-29 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Thunderbirds (9-1) will now prepare for their test against Pascack Hills (Montvale, NJ). The Broncos go into the Big North - Patriot test with a 1-8 record. In their last test, Pascack Hills was beaten by Lakeland Regional (Wanaque, NJ), 51-40, in a non-league test.
The Indians now own a 2-7 record. They play next when they host Fair Lawn for a Big North - Independence test on Tuesday, January 9.
