The Malad Dragons basketball team scored 54 points and held the visiting Soda Springs Cardinals to 52 in the Dragons league triumph on Saturday.

The Dragons now sport a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Marsh Valley for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 10. Malad will meet a Eagles team coming off a 46-33 non-league loss to Star Valley (Afton, WY). The Eagles record now stands at 2-12.

The Cardinals (5-10) will now prepare for their contest against Aberdeen (Aberdeen, ID). The Tigers enter the 2A South East Idaho contest with a 4-10 record. In their last contest, Aberdeen was nudged by Bear Lake (Montpelier, ID), 64-7, in a league contest.
