Sumter Central Jaguars (York, AL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Thomasville Tigers (Thomasville, AL), 41-28 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sumter Central upgrades its record to 4-6 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Greensboro (Greensboro, AL) to play the Raiders in a 3A Area 7 bout on Friday, January 12. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 1-6.

Next up, the Tigers play the Excel Panthers (Excel, AL) in a 3A Area 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Thomasville will attempt to upgrade on its 5-6 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 43-37 non-league loss to W.S. Neal (East Brewton, AL).
