In Monday's league contest, the visiting Montrose Meteors basketball team scored a big 61-26 triumph over the Carbondale Area Chargers.

The Meteors (7-4) will now prepare for their contest against Blue Ridge (New Milford, PA). The Raiders go into the Lackawanna 4 contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, Blue Ridge was trounced by Elk Lake (Dimock, PA), 45-36, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Chargers confront the Forest City Foresters (Forest City, PA) in a Lackawanna 4 contest, on Thursday, January 9. Carbondale Area will attempt to better on its 0-11 season record. The Foresters go into the contest with a 1-9 record after their 55-33 non-league loss to Western Wayne (Lake Ariel, PA).
