In Monday's league contest, the host Marquette Redmen basketball team scored a big 71-30 win over the Escanaba Eskymos.
The Redmen (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Menominee (Menominee, MI). The Maroons come into the Great Northern U.P. contest with a 5-4 record. In their last battle, Menominee walloped Marinette (Marinette, WI), 51-37, in a non-league battle.
The Eskymos now own a 7-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Iron Mountain for a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 8. Escanaba will meet a Mountaineers squad coming off a 61-56 non-league loss to Westwood (Ishpeming, MI). The Mountaineers record now stands at 5-2.
