In Monday's non-league contest, the host Holmdel Hornets basketball team scored a good 53-42 triumph over the Middletown South Eagles.
The Hornets (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Rumson-Fair Haven (Rumson, NJ). The Bulldogs go into the Shore A - Central contest with a 5-1 record. In their last contest, Rumson-Fair Haven topped St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ), 50-30, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Eagles confront the Red Bank Catholic Caseys (Red Bank, NJ) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, January 9. Middletown South will attempt to better on its 5-3 season record. The Caseys go into the contest with a 5-3 record after their 62-52 league loss to Red Bank Regional (Little Silver, NJ).
