In Monday's league contest, the visiting Mary Star of the Sea Stars basketball team scored a good 65-56 triumph over the St. Genevieve Valiants.

The Stars (13-5) will now prepare for their contest against La Salle (Pasadena, CA). The Lancers go into the Santa Fe contest with a 5-13 record. In their last contest, La Salle was toppled by Verbum Dei Jesuit (Los Angeles, CA), 57-54, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Valiants confront the Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Cardinals (Montebello, CA) in a Santa Fe contest, on Wednesday, January 8. St. Genevieve will attempt to better on its 9-10 season record. The Cardinals go into the contest with a 12-5 record after their 77-52 non-league win over Rio Hondo Prep (Arcadia, CA).
