With the victory, Newton advances its record to 9-4 on the year. The Tigers travel to Clarkdale (Meridian, MS) to meet the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Bulldogs enter the battle with a record of 10-6. Clarkdale won 44-38 in their recent non-league battle against Union (Union, MS)
The Rebels now own a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bay Springs for a 2A Region 5 battle on Friday, January 10. Scott Central will meet a Bulldogs squad coming off a 59-36 league win over Lake (Lake, MS). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-4.
