North Carolina High School Basketball - Murphy nips Highlands

In Monday's non-league contest, the host Murphy Bulldogs basketball team scored a close 33-31 triumph over the Highlands Highlanders.

The Bulldogs (4-6) will now prepare for their contest against Polk County (Benton, TN). The Wildcats go into the non-league contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, Polk County was tipped by Union County (Blairsville, GA), 56-48, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Highlanders battle the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Highlands will attempt to better on its 6-4 season record. The Braves go into the contest with a 9-1 record after their 58-48 non-league win over Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
