The crowd at Monday's league challenge between the Midlakes Screaming Eagles (Clifton Springs, NY) and the visiting Wayne Eagles (Ontario Center, NY), observed Midlakes's basketball team overcome Wayne by a margin of 48-36.

The Screaming Eagles (3-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Palmyra-Macedon (Palmyra, NY). The Red Raiders come into the Section 5 Finger Lakes - East challenge with a 4-4 record. In their last challenge, Palmyra-Macedon defeated Mynderse Academy (Seneca Falls, NY), 43-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Eagles battle the Newark Reds (Newark, NY) in a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East challenge, on Wednesday, January 8. Wayne will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Reds come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 57-55 league loss to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NY).
