North Carolina High School Basketball - East Surry nips South Stokes

Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the East Surry Cardinals (Pilot Mountain, NC) and the visiting South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC), saw East Surry's basketball squad hold off South Stokes by a count of 65-62.
With the victory, East Surry upgrades its record to 7-3 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Forbush (East Bend, NC) to play the Falcons in a 2A Conference 37 challenge on Tuesday, January 11. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 10-3. Forbush won 90-84 in their recent league challenge against Surry Central (Dobson, NC)
Next up, the Sauras play the Starmount Rams (Boonville, NC) in a 1A Conference 36 challenge, on Tuesday, January 11. South Stokes will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 1-6 record after their 65-62 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC).
