Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Fort Chiswell Pioneers (Max Meadows, VA) and the visiting Galax Maroon Tide (Galax, VA), saw Fort Chiswell's basketball squad wallop Galax by a tally of 71-38.

With the victory, Fort Chiswell improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA) to confront the Bears in a Mountain Empire challenge on Tuesday, January 11. The Bears come into the challenge with a record of 6-5.

Next up, the Maroon Tide confront the Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA) in a Mountain Empire challenge, on Tuesday, January 11. Galax will attempt to improve on its 2-5 season record.
