The Wheeler County Bulldogs (Alamo, GA) basketball nipped the host Hawkinsville Red Devils (Hawkinsville, GA), 54-51 in Friday's league test.

The Bulldogs (11-2) will now prepare for their test against Johnson County (Wrightsville, GA). The Trojans go into the A Public Region 4 test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Johnson County was tipped by Telfair County (McRae, GA), 65-60, in a league test.

The Red Devils now own a 2-8 record. They play next when they travel to Bleckley County for a non-league test on Saturday, January 8. Hawkinsville will encounter a Royals squad coming off a 79-31 league loss to Northeast (Macon, GA). The Royals record now stands at 5-7.
