Hardin-Jefferson Hawks (Sour Lake, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Shepherd Pirates (Shepherd, TX), 69-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hardin-Jefferson upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Hawks host Livingston (Livingston, TX) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, January 21. The Lions come into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Pirates play the Liberty Panthers (Liberty, TX) in a bout, on Tuesday, January 11. Shepherd will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record.
