In Saturday's league outing, the Ashland Hornets (Ashland, ME) basketball squad beat the host Washburn Beavers (Washburn, ME), by a count of 45-33.

The Hornets (1-5) will now prepare for their outing against Easton (Easton, ME). The Bears go into the D North outing with a 8-1 record. In their last outing, Easton defeated Madawaska (Madawaska, ME), 54-40, in a non-league outing.

The Beavers now hold a 1-7 record. They play next when they travel to Southern Aroostook for a D North outing on Tuesday, January 10. Washburn will clash with a Warriors squad coming off a 53-28 league win over Katahdin (Sherman Station, ME). The Warriors record now stands at 7-0.
