Portland Bulldogs (Portland, ME) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Cheverus Stags (Portland, ME), 46-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Portland upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Thornton Academy (Saco, ME) to clash with the Trojans in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 7-0.

Next up, the Stags clash with the Hampden Broncos (Hampden, ME) in a AA North bout, on Friday, January 13. Cheverus will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record. The Broncos go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 71-57 non-league win over Messalonskee (Oakland, ME).
