Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 80-67 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gilmer upgrades its record to 10-5 on the season. The Bobcats host Wesleyan (Norcross, GA) to clash with the Wolves in a AAA Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Wolves go into the bout with a record of 9-5. Wesleyan won 57-51 in their recent non-league bout against Chamblee (Chamblee, GA)

Next up, the Bulldogs clash with the Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) in a 1A Conference 43 - Little bout, on Friday, January 13. Murphy will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record.
