Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Heppner Mustangs (Heppner, OR), 50-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Grant Union upgrades its record to 5-8 on the season. The Prospectors host Enterprise (Enterprise, OR) to clash with the Outlaws in a 2A Blue Mountain bout on Friday, January 13. The Outlaws go into the bout with a record of 3-11. Enterprise won 58-43 in their recent league bout against Irrigon (Irrigon, OR)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Weston-McEwen TigerScots (Athena, OR) in a 2A Blue Mountain bout, on Friday, January 13. Heppner will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The TigerScots go into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 70-59 league loss to Stanfield (Stanfield, OR).
