Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Riverfield Academy Raiders (Rayville, LA), 69-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hillcrest Christian upgrades its record to 4-10 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Canton Academy (Canton, MS) to play the Panthers in a MAIS 4A District 3 bout on Monday, January 9. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 1-3. Canton Academy lost 49-39 in their recent non-league bout against Leake Academy (Madden, MS)

Next up, the Raiders play the Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS) in a MAIS 4A District 3 bout, on Friday, January 13. Riverfield Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record.
