The Hopi Bruins basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Valley Pirates to 54 in the Bruins league triumph on Saturday.

The Bruins now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Greyhills Academy for a 2A North contest on Wednesday, January 11. Hopi will meet a Fightin' Knights team coming off a 72-16 league loss to Hopi (Keams Canyon, AZ). The Fightin' Knights record now stands at 0-11.

The Pirates (3-9) will now prepare for their contest against St. Johns (St. Johns, AZ). The Redskins enter the 2A North contest with a 7-7 record. In their last contest, St. Johns nudged Many Farms (Many Farms, AZ), 69-37, in a league contest.
