Malden Golden Tornados (Malden, MA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Melrose Red Raiders (Melrose, MA), 38-34 in a non-league outing.

The Golden Tornados (6-3) will now prepare for their outing against Lynn Classical (Lynn, MA). The Rams go into the Greater Boston outing with a 3-5 record. In their last outing, Lynn Classical was tipped by Everett (Everett, MA), 49-44, in a league outing.

The Red Raiders now hold a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Winchester for a Middlesex contest on Tuesday, January 10. Melrose will battle a Red & Black team coming off a 48-40 league loss to Arlington (Arlington, MA). The Red & Black record now stands at 5-2.
