The McGehee Owls tipped the visiting Smackover Buckaroos basketball team by a final score of 45-42 in Saturday's league game.
In their next game, the Owls face the Drew Central Pirates (Monticello, AR) in a 3A Region 8 game, on Wednesday, January 11. McGehee will attempt to move on its 3-4 season record. The Pirates enter the game with a 8-2 record after their 51-36 league loss to Dumas (Dumas, AR).
With the defeat, Smackover moves to 5-6 on the season. The Buckaroos host Dollarway (Pine Bluff, AR) to encounter the Cardinals in a 3A Region 8 test on Wednesday, January 11. The Cardinals go into the test with a record of 7-6. Dollarway lost 66-41 in their recent league test against Lakeside (Lake Village, AR)
