St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy Warriors (Downey, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Oak Park Eagles (Oak Park, CA), 65-62 in a non-league challenge.

With the victory, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy improves its record to 13-4 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Cathedral (Los Angeles, CA) to confront the Phantoms in a Camino Real challenge on Monday, January 9. The Phantoms come into the challenge with a record of 10-5. Cathedral won 80-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Hamilton (Los Angeles, CA)

Next up, the Eagles confront the Moorpark Musketeers (Moorpark, CA) in a Coastal Canyon challenge, on Wednesday, January 11. Oak Park will attempt to improve on its 11-8 season record. The Musketeers come into the challenge with a 4-15 record after their 66-57 league loss to Royal (Simi Valley, CA).
