Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pickens Dragons (Jasper, GA), 46-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sonoraville upgrades its record to 11-5 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Central (Carrollton, GA) to play the Lions in a AAAA Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 11-2. Central won 50-47 in their recent league bout against Heritage (Ringgold, GA)

Next up, the Dragons play the White County Warriors (Cleveland, GA) in a AAA Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Pickens will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 9-7 record after their 65-54 non-league win over North Hall (Gainesville, GA).
