The Poyen Indians basketball team (Poyen, AR), was nudged 55-50 in Saturday's league battle with the host St. Joseph Bulldogs (Conway, AR)
The Bulldogs now possess a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Magnet Cove for a 2A Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 10. St. Joseph will battle a Panthers team coming off a 64-58 league loss to Mountain Pine (Mountain Pine, AR). The Panthers record now stands at 4-6.
The Indians (0-10) will now prepare for their battle against Bigelow (Bigelow, AR). The Panthers come into the 2A Region 5 battle with a 10-1 record. In their last battle, Bigelow edged England (England, AR), 68-54, in a league battle.
