Fans at Saturday's league challenge between the Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA) and the host Shikellamy Braves (Sunbury, PA), saw Shamokin Area's basketball squad knock off Shikellamy by a count of 59-51.

With the victory, Shamokin Area upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Indians host Montoursville (Montoursville, PA) to play the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 9. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Montoursville lost 78-64 in their recent league challenge against Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, PA)

Next up, the Braves play the Selinsgrove Seals (Selinsgrove, PA) in a Heartland I challenge, on Wednesday, January 11. Shikellamy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record.
