In Saturday's non-league outing, the Athens Christian Eagles (Athens, GA) basketball squad edged the host Oglethorpe County Patriots (Lexington, GA), by a count of 59-57.
The Eagles (10-4) will now prepare for their outing against Elbert County (Elberton, GA). The Blue Devils go into the A D1 Region 8 outing with a 12-3 record.
The Patriots now hold a 9-6 record. They play next when they host Athens Academy for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 10. Oglethorpe County will clash with a Spartans squad coming off a 41-27 league win over Union County (Blairsville, GA). The Spartans record now stands at 12-1.
