Escondido Cougars (Escondido, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Castle Park Trojans (Chula Vista, CA), 39-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Escondido upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Cougars host Canyon Crest Academy (San Diego, CA) to play the Ravens in a non-league bout on Monday, January 9. The Ravens come into the bout with a record of 4-9. Canyon Crest Academy lost 49-42 in their recent non-league bout against Bayfront Charter (Chula Vista, CA)

Next up, the Trojans play the Sweetwater Red Devils (National City, CA) in a South Bay bout, on Wednesday, January 11. Castle Park will attempt to upgrade on its 0-15 season record.
