Cate Rams (Carpinteria, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Villanova Prep Wildcats (Ojai, CA), 40-23 in a league bout.

With the win, Cate upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Rams host La Reina (Thousand Oaks, CA) to play the Regents in a Frontier bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Regents go into the bout with a record of 0-4. La Reina lost 27-24 in their recent non-league bout against Hillcrest Christian (Thousand Oaks, CA)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Hillcrest Christian Saints (Thousand Oaks, CA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 11. Villanova Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 27-24 non-league win over La Reina (Thousand Oaks, CA).
