North Carolina High School Basketball - Gilmer nips Murphy

Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), 52-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gilmer upgrades its record to 2-12 on the campaign. The Bobcats host Wesleyan (Norcross, GA) to play the Wolves in a AAA Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Wolves come into the bout with a record of 11-2. Wesleyan won 39-33 in their recent non-league bout against Arlington (Arlington, TN)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Murphy will attempt to advance on its 5-10 season record.
